In the fascinating context of the Arco della Pace, a triumphal arch begun in 1807 by Luigi Cagnola, in the midst of Napoleonic euphoria, there are the small twin buildings of the former tollhouses. We are at the beginning of Corso Sempione and at the entrance to the park of the same name, one of the most beautiful and popular places in all of Milan. Together with the two toll booths located on its sides, the Arco della Pace constitutes Porta Sempione, one of the 5 oldest gates of Milan.
