The church of Santa Maria dei Miracoli is a church in Rome, in the Campo Marzio district, in Piazza del Popolo, between Via del Corso and Via di Ripetta. It is popularly known as the twin church of Santa Maria in Montesanto, although the two structures differ mainly for the layout.
Below the two twin churches are the remains of two pyramid funerary monuments, very similar in shape and size to the Pyramid of Caius Cestius and the demolished Vatican Pyramid: These two tombs must also date back to the Augustan age and were placed as a monumental entrance to the Campus Martius, the very function that the two churches have today.
