The building was so named due to the negative impression it aroused at the time, caused by the extravagant use of elements of classical language. It was the first work of the architect Giovanni Muzio, the designer of the architectural current defined as “Novecento”, by analogy with the contemporary artistic movement. The building consists of two bodies, divided by a private street which increases the internal views and interlaces the massive building with the urban context, a few steps from the fashion district. Many International Consulates, the Police Headquarters and the Revenue Agency are also based here, as well as banks, insurance companies and multinationals in the cosmetics, fashion and publishing sectors.
