The church of San Girolamo dei Croati in Ripetta is a place of Catholic worship in Rome, as well as the national church of the Croats in Rome. It is also known by the ancient names of San Girolamo degli Illirici and San Girolamo degli Schiavoni. It is the rectory church of San Lorenzo in Lucina and the title of cardinal. In the nineteenth century it was massively restored by Pope Pius IX.
Originally located along the street of Ripetta, in the urban fabric blooming around the homonymous port, it is flanked by the church of San Rocco. The demolition of the port following the post-unification arrangement of the banks of the Tiber and the gutting of the 1930s, following the arrangement of the area around the Mausoleum of Augustus and the erection of the complex of the Ara Pacis, have isolated the two churches, connected by a raised walkway.
