This is the headquarters of the Veneranda Fabbrica del Duomo di Milano, an organization that provides for the enhancement, maintenance and restoration of the Milanese cathedral. The Palace was built by the architect Pietro Pestagalli between 1841 and 1853. Consisting of a single order of Corinthian semi-columns that adorn the two upper floors and the ground floor with large arches that serve as a base, the construction replaced the laboratories and warehouses of the Factory as well as the Cathedral cemetery. Giuseppe Vandoni completed the work in 1865, crowning it with the imposing central clock which was flanked by the statues of day and night. The first, depicting a young woman who, with one hand, covers her face from the sun, the second, a half-asleep woman.
