It is located in Piazza Navona. It was erected by Rossellino as a temple of the Spanish nation for the Jubilee of 1450, the church, initially named after San Giacomo, was renovated by Antonio da Sangallo the Younger and completely revolutionized in its original layout after the opening of Corso Rinascimento, who deprived her of the transept.
The facade of Rossellino, partly rebuilt by Carimini, preserves the beautiful fifteenth-century portal, whose frame is finely worked. The interior, is visibly recent, was once rich in works of art, then brought to the Prado of Madrid and the Spanish national church of S. Maria di Monserrato.
To admire the second chapel on the left of the altar, dedicated to St.James, by Sangallo. The beautiful Renaissance choir in polychrome marble, located in the third bay on the right, by Pietro Torrigiano. And finally, behind the high altar, the beautiful marble backdrop in serliana, by Pietro and Domenico Rosselli.
