The twin fountains of St. Peter’s Square are located in Rome, in the square of the same name, included in the territory of the Vatican City, and are located on the major axis of the elliptical square in line with the Egyptian obelisk in the center. The Fountains of St. Peter’s Square were built at different times. The one erected by Carlo Maderno for Paul V in 1614 appears to the right of those looking at the Basilica. The other is the work of Bernini, who, over half a century later, also moved and modified that of Maderno.
