Built in the 17th century, it was built by the Cerri family and soon became the seat of the Council of State and the General Directorate of Prisons. It is currently one of the seats of the prestigious “La Sapienza” University of Rome.
In 2010, reclamation and consolidation works were carried out on the facades, as well as the reorganization of the roofs and all the crowning on the façades of Corso Vittorio Emanuele II, Via Larga and Via Cerri and Via del Pellegrino.
